The Centre of Higher education in theatre studies participates in the European Academy for Innovative Experiential Education in the framework of Erasmus+
The Centre of Higher Education in Theatre Studies is proud to announce its participation in one of the 27 Academies funded by the European Union under the Erasmus+ program. This initiative brings together 12 leading organizations, coordinated by the Greek research organization ACTION SYNERGY, including some of the best universities in Europe. Universities such as UNIVERSITA DEGLI STUDI DI FIRENZE, UC LEUVEN, UNIVERSITAT DE GIRONA, and other specialized organizations in education research are working to develop innovative, experiential teaching methods for primary and secondary education.
The Centre of Higher Education in Theatre Studies is part of this consortium. It is responsible for two methods: creative learning for primary education (creativity learning.eu) and Creative STEM for teaching STEM subjects in secondary education (https://stemproject.eu/).
At the meeting in Florence a few days ago, the Centre of Higher Education in Theatre Studies had the opportunity to introduce these methods to a large audience of teachers from many European countries and enrich them by working with the other partners.
Director Nikolas Kamtsis and visual artist Mika Panagou developed methods that incorporate theatre and theatrical techniques to enhance learning. With an emphasis on experiential education, the Academy’s activities will aim to create lessons that inspire creativity, enhance imagination, and cultivate teamwork and critical thinking.
This participation marks an important step towards disseminating the value of theatre as an educational tool at the European level and connecting the arts with the educational community. The project is expected to run until 2026 and include workshops, seminars, exchanges of experience, and the creation of digital tools that can be used by teachers.
